@notorioussbd 317/458 – PUREGYM SCANDAL Let me make it clear that this isn’t an attack on the person who made the post. We all make mistakes and can learn from them but unfortunately this one mistake led to a watered down, risk averted approach to marketing. If you’ve seen any of Puregyms ads they are dull and uninspiring, relying heavily on UGC which looks forced and heavily scripted. Personally, I find the the brand has no self awareness. Their own image is budget operator giving you more than you pay for but if you ask most people they’ll tell you it’s a gym that isn’t respected by the members and because of inflation is becoming less budget friendly every year. It’s a shame this led to a dull marketing strategy but they are making money and continuing expansion but at the cost of any creativity and expression from a place that to quote a friend is about release and moving your body freely. Shame I don’t think they’ll ever change as whilst the logistics behind the refurbs are slick and impressive the gyms I do visit post refurbs are soulless carbon copies of each other. I get this is every businesses blueprint and fully aware you can go to independents. Wouldn’t hurt to sprinkle a bit of sugar spice and something nice on the gyms to give each location a distinct feel whilst still aligning with brand image.
